About Amber Cabs — a taxi firm that keeps its word

We have driven Jaipur and the wider Rajasthan for twelve years now. In that time we settled on one way of working and stuck to it: name the price at the start, put a driver at your door when we said we would, and hand you a bill that matches the quote to the rupee. This page is who we are and how that promise actually works.

  • 12 years on the road
  • 1.2L+ trips done
  • 150 cars in the fleet
  • 4.9 across 1,280+ ratings
4.9 out of 5, across 1,280+ rated trips
Where we stand today

Twelve years, told in numbers we can back up

We would rather show you the record than describe it. Here is the ground we have covered, and none of it is rounded up for effect.

  • Twelve years booking cabs out of Jaipur
  • More than 1.2 lakh trips finished
  • A working fleet of 150 cars
  • 4.9 stars from over 1,280 riders

Those four figures are the whole biography. We are not going to invent a founding legend or a corner office to go with them. What the numbers say is plain enough: for twelve years people in Jaipur have rung the same phone number, been quoted a price, and been driven where they were going. Enough of them came back, and rated us afterwards, to leave a 4.9 average sitting on 1,280-odd reviews. A hundred and fifty cars are out earning that rating today.

Most of our work is the same handful of jobs, done well and repeatedly — a run to Delhi or Udaipur, an early car to the airport, a day of local errands on the meter, a week-long loop around Rajasthan for visitors. The routes and the fares for all of it are printed on this site. Nothing is quoted differently because you asked twice.

The fare we quote is the fare you pay

What that sentence means when the trip is over

It is easy to print a slogan. Here is the mechanism behind ours, step by step, so you can hold us to it.

One number, given up front

Before you agree to anything, you get a single figure for the trip. It is worked out from the distance and the car you choose — ₹17 a kilometre in a hatchback up to ₹29 in a Tempo Traveller — plus a driver allowance of ₹300 on a full-day run. You see the total, not the parts, before you say yes.

The price does not move

Booking at 9pm on a festival weekend costs the same as booking on a quiet Tuesday. We do not run surge pricing, and we do not revise the quote once you are in the car because the traffic was heavy or the trip ran late.

Tolls are named, not sprung

Where a highway toll or a state entry tax applies, we tell you the amount while you are still deciding — it is passed on at cost, never marked up. There is no line item at the end of the trip you did not hear about at the start.

You settle the way you like

Cash, UPI, card or a bank transfer — pay however suits you. The amount is the one you were quoted. No one asks you to do sums at the kerb.

The people at the wheel

Who actually drives you

A fixed fare is only worth as much as the driver keeping to the plan. Ours are the reason the promise holds up on the day.

They turn up on time

When we say the car will be outside at 4:45, the aim is that it is outside at 4:45. An early flight or a pre-dawn train is exactly the booking we are built to get right, and the drivers plan the pickup around your clock, not ours.

They know the roads

These are men who drive the same highways most weeks. They read where the Rajasthan roads slow down, know where it makes sense to stop, and find your address without a detour or a raised voice.

They keep the car right

The cars go in for service on schedule, not when something finally rattles. A clean, working vehicle with air-conditioning that does its job is the baseline, on a two-hour hop or a four-day tour alike.

Fuel-efficient, and no taller a claim than that

Why the fleet is CNG and hybrid

We call our cars eco-friendly, and we want to be precise about what we mean by it — no more and no less.

Most of the fleet runs on CNG; the rest are hybrids. That is the extent of it. There is nothing exotic here — no electric fleet, no carbon pledge we would struggle to prove. What CNG and hybrid engines give you is real but modest: less fuel burned per kilometre, less exhaust into the Jaipur air, and a running cost low enough that we can keep the fares steady. On a long outstation stretch the saving is most obvious, which is part of why the quoted price stays sensible.

Kept in service on schedule, these engines stay clean and reliable for years. We would rather tell you that honestly than dress it up. If a number about our cars is not on this site, ask and we will quote it to you plainly.
